A few of my favorite things during cancer treatment

A few of my favorite gifts

When I was diagnosed with cancer, I received so many amazing gifts from friends and family.  I’ve included a roundup to some of the favorite gifts I received, as well as links to conveniently purchase them.

By far the most popular gift was flowers.  One of my best friends is a florist and her amazing creations kept my spirits up.  If you don’t live in the same town as your friend it can be hard to find a good florist.  Check out our post on how to find a florist in your friend's town.  If you can't find an artisan florist, my favorite national florist is Farm Girl Flowers.

I couldn’t drink alcohol when I was going through treatment and I really missed the ritual of a glass of wine or a fun cocktail.  A friend sent me this awesome Tea Forte set. Not only is Tea Forte a decadent tea I wouldn’t splurge on for myself, she found these cocktail flavors like Blueberry Merlot, Mojito Marmalade or Cherry Cosmo.  The packaging is so decadent and drinking a cup feels like an indulgent moment.

There is no good card for this!  So true.  I received a few of these Emily McDowell cards.  She has so many great funny cards, see our post dedicated to her cards.

House Shoes

I wore out two pairs of slippers during treatment because I wore them so often. Prior to diagnosis my slippers last years.  I love these birdies slippers because they look like regular shoes but fit like slippers.  They are very luxurious and make me feel like I am getting dresses even when I am not going anywhere (I have the Cheetah pair!)

A warm cozy blanket.  OK, your friend probably has more throw blankets than she needs, but a really soft cozy cancer blanket is like a perma-friend. My kids called this my blankie, I wore it all the time and it was always by my side.

When all you want to do is cud In those cases its nice to have a sweater that feels like a blanket.  I love the Barefoot Dreams line.

During the long hours of chemotherapy a friend gave me a meditation bracelet to help pass the time.  This labradorite bracelet is stylish and comforting, plus it comes with a gift band, so you don't need to add extra gift packaging.

We would love to hear from you.  What do you recommend?
